Impact Ministries partners with local elementary schools to encourage their students. We do this by hosting honor roll parties, giving away free school supplies, providing Kidz Pax weekend meals, volunteering to judge science fair projects, reading to students, serving at the Christmas workshop, serving on School Governance Council, and honoring teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Hundreds of students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch at school. For some, this is the only meal they have each day. Kidz Pax provides weekend meals for students that are deemed at risk for not having enough food on the weekends by donating nutritious meals when school is not in session. Our volunteers pack and deliver these meals to the schools every Thursday and they are sent home with students on Fridays.
Impact Ministries rewards students who make the honor roll by hosting parties and other special events to celebrate their achievements. Our annual honor roll party is hosted at New City Church in January of each year and there are year-end celebrations at the schools to encourage the students who make good grades.
In August of each year, Impact Ministries provides free school supplies to the students at local schools to help each student start the school year prepared for the work ahead.
Teachers at our local elementary schools are honored in May of each year for their sacrifice and hard work with the students.
High 5 Fridays are hosted at Oakley Elementary School the last Friday of each month. Our volunteers help the students get the day started right with a "High 5", a smile and words of encouragement. We meet at the school at 7:10 a.m.
If so, sign up now and get involved. We'd love for you to join our team and help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
